Hundreds of refugees, mostly from Syria, Afghanistan and Iraq, arrive in Belgrade every day. The capital of Serbia is on their route to European Union countries. They came across Greece and Macedonia, stay in Belgrade for a short time, until they find the way to EU countries or until they are transferred to some of Serbian refugee centres for temporary accommodation. While in Belgrade, they are mostly located in several parks beside the main bus station. Many local citizens help them with food, medicine and cloths. They also get some professional medical help. There tragedy is relieved as much as possible, but not enough, while staying in here.
