Years ago, due to financial problems and inability Years ago, due to financial problems and inability to efficiently communicate with people, Panta Petrović - known as Bata Panta, began his quest for alternative ways of living. Isolation and escapism are his answers to common world problems. “I find my peace whenever I come here, Old Mountain is my second home. People do not interest me, it is hard to find a common language with them. My loyal guard dogs and a cat Blacky, who lost an eye in a fight with a fox while guarding our food in my absence, are my only friends. “ Like Bata Panta, the voluntary outcast from Nemanja Pancic's story, we too have lately found refuge far from everyone - inclined to escapism and in a state of deep reflection, for months and years. In the meantime, we made a lot of mistakes, and maybe a good move or two. We went to the end of the Universe and back to find wisdom. We licked our wounds, whilst trying to make a better version of ourselves. Time passed inexorably. Perhaps the moment has come to jump over the river that isolated and protected us from the world, and to return in a new form. The world, which today is significantly different, less and less hospitable and less and less eager for dreamers of hermits who, from their solitary cave, wanted to shape it and change it under their own terms. Here we are again, even though we never really left. We are guided by the idea that in this eternally degrading society there is a place and a role for a collective that has always fought for change for the better. A worker at one of the many fish factories in the A worker at one of the many fish factories in the remote locations of Bristol Bay, Alaska, after a 17-hours long shift, stands in front of his lodge while talking to loved ones via a video call. The salmon season in Bristol Bay lasts relatively short, from mid-June to the end of July. The pace of work is extremely strenuous, implying working in shifts that last up to 18 hours. This requires mental and physical fitness. Many workers come from European countries such as Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Serbia and Moldova because of quick and lucrative earnings.
